Integrating EMDR and IFS with Queer Communities

In this 90-minute Zoom workshop, Sand Chang, PhD (they/them), horizon greene, LCSW (she/her) and Lisa Gallegos, LCSW (she/her) will provide information on how to integrate IFS and EMDR in a queer- and trans-affirming way. We will discuss key tenets in integrating these techniques in a way that is affirming to people of all genders and sexualities. The training will contain both didactic and experiential portions.

Hosted by QTIFS and Azaad Healing Justice Studio, Charts and Parts is a one-of-a-kind healing justice workshop series that integrates astrology, IFS/parts work, and psychodramatic theater. The co-Facilitators, Sand Chang, Ph.D. (they/them), and Kulkiran Nakai, Psy.D. (they/she), will support participants to encounter and befriend the shadows of our inner family systems related to the themes and archetypes of the Spring Equinox and Aries Season.

None of Your Busy-ness: Divesting from Grind Culture and Workaholism through an IFS Lens

In this 90-minute workshop, Dr. Sand Chang will help participants to examine the ways in which grind culture and capitalism have necessitated the development of workaholic or busy parts of us to aid in our survival. We will discuss the ways in which colonialism and white supremacy pervade our relationship not just to paid work, but to how we spend our time or subjugate our bodies. Through an IFS lens, participants will have an opportunity to reflect on their own parts as well as how to work with clients who are addicted to busy-ness.

Food For Thought: IFS, Body Trust, and Eating Disorders

In this 90-minute workshop, Dr. Sand Chang will provide information on how to apply Internal Family Systems (IFS) to working with eating disorders and supporting collective body liberation. A Body Trust lens will be utilized in discussing the concept of Self-led relationships to food, movement, and exercise. The training will contain both didactic and experiential portions and will be divided into four main segments: 1) Diet culture in context, 2) Grounding in IFS and Body Trust frameworks, 3) IFS applications for eating disorders, 4) Case examples.

All Genders Welcome: Internal Family Systems With Trans and/or Nonbinary Communities

Is gender a part? Are all genders welcome in IFS?

In this workshop, the presenters will discuss the application of IFS with respect to gender identity, trans experience, and living in a ciscentric world. They will also discuss experiences navigating being trans and/or nonbinary providers in the IFS community. The presenters will highlight the ways in which “all genders welcome” and “all parts welcome” must apply across the intersections of race, class, age, and other cultural identity markers.

The course will be co-taught by Nic Wildes, LMHC (they/them) and Sand Chang, PhD (they/them), both IFS Institute Assistant Trainer Mentees (ATMs), Approved Consultants, and Level 3 Certified IFS therapists.
